Moments is a monumental stainless steel public art installation developed and executed in collaboration with Majid Al Futtaim for Tilal Al Ghaf, the group’s premium residential community in Dubai. Created with renowned artist eL Seed, the artwork commemorates the late Majid Al Futtaim and celebrates the enduring impact of his vision, values, and legacy.
Drawing on eL Seed’s distinctive approach to contemporary Arabic calligraphy, the sculpture transforms written language into a powerful three-dimensional form. Its flowing lines rise and intersect in a composition that feels both expressive and architectural, inviting visitors to experience the artwork from multiple perspectives. As daylight moves across its polished surface, changing reflections bring the calligraphy to life and create a subtle dialogue between the sculpture, the surrounding landscape, and the nearby mosque.
Fabricated and installed with precision, Moments is constructed from the highest-grade stainless steel to ensure lasting durability and a refined finish in Dubai’s demanding climate. Advanced 3D modelling, engineering, and specialist metal fabrication techniques were used to translate eL Seed’s intricate calligraphy into a structurally robust artwork at a monumental scale. Positioned in front of the Majid Al Futtaim Mosque, the sculpture serves as a lasting tribute and a meaningful place for reflection within the heart of the Tilal Al Ghaf community.
