Suspended Installation, Msheireb Downtown Doha

In an open-air pedestrian passage in Msheireb Downtown Doha, Art in Public Space coordinated the structural engineering, rigging and installation of a large suspended artwork.

The work is assembled from locally sourced recycled materials and found objects in a pink and green palette, and hangs above the people walking through the passage. Our team designed a multi-point, certified tension rigging system that holds the suspended elements across the breezeway. It keeps the work stable in the wind and keeps clear headroom for visitors for the whole time the work was on display.
