Cube Abyss
Cube Abyss, crafted with Cyril Lancelin for the Balloon Museum, is an captivating inflatable world built for wandering, wondering, and pushing past the edge of the unknown. Inspired by the mystery of the deep ocean, the installation moves between shadow and light, inviting guests to explore, observe, and embrace the thrill of discovery.
Here, Cyril plays with the idea of fear — not as danger, but as curiosity, the quiet tension we feel when stepping into something unfamiliar. From above, Cube Abyss appears as a perfect geometric grid, each cell its own mini-universe — a 3D labyrinth waiting to be explored. Up close, the soft inflatable forms reveal their texture and movement; from afar, they merge into a powerful sculptural mass that fills the entire space. Light and sound weave through the structure, amplifying the sense of depth, rhythm, and mystery.
Inside, the artwork becomes a place to slow down and slip into the experience. guests are invited to sit, wander, and navigate the flowing voids and curves, watching the colors and lights shift around them. Together with Cyril, we reimagined the setting into a meditative, otherworldly journey — a place where geometry becomes emotion, and discovery becomes the art itself.
