DMCC Plaza Public Art Experience

Mystical Mushroom Trail and Dance of the Humming are two captivating public art installations curated and produced as part of the immersive art experience at Uptown Plaza, the newest development by DMCC in Dubai. Together, these works transform the public realm into a whimsical landscape of wonder, imagination, and movement—inviting visitors to explore, interact, and discover.

Crafted from electroplated stainless steel and hand-painted, hand-crafted components, the installations merge fine artistry with durable, architectural materials to withstand the Dubai climate while maintaining a luminous and playful visual language.

Mystical Mushroom Trail features a fantastical path of oversized sculptural mushrooms, their metallic surfaces reflecting sunlight by day and glowing under dynamic lighting by night. The trail winds through the plaza like a storybook come to life, evoking a sense of curiosity and enchantment in both children and adults.

Adjacent to the trail, Dance of the Humming brings movement and elegance to the space. Suspended hummingbirds, captured in mid-flight, hover delicately above the plaza in a rhythmic composition. These hand-crafted birds—painted with rich, iridescent hues—appear to dance through the air, weaving between architecture, art, and landscape.

Together, the two installations create a multisensory experience that blurs the line between nature and fantasy, art and environment.
