The Infinite Green Sculpture

“THE INFINITE GREEN” is an example of a „green sculpture” which combines steel and wood construction, soil and vegetating plants. The sculpture may bring to mind the symbol of infinity, especially observed from a birds eye point of view. The viewer is physically able to access the interior of the structure, seeing it from inside. Several shades of green appear since different species are planted on this 110 m2, 7 shelves-level sculpture. Various species blossom at different times of the growing season.

Perennials of over 100 species (making up around 3000 plants altogether) have been planted here. The project was part of a visual art program for the ‘EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE WROCLAW’ 2016 and will be continued at least until the fall of 2017. Temperature and humidity records measured inside were collected by the Polytechnic University of Poznan.
